Journey

Our Inspiration

At The Lotus Groves, we celebrate the beauty of plant-based cuisine. Founded by two vegan sisters, our deli specialises in handmade offerings, including savoury vegan cream cheeses and delightful Asian dishes. Our purpose is to merge culinary passion with social responsibility, guided by the principles of mindfulness and community service.

Both sisters grew up in an environment valuing the blessings of having food, clean water and the ability to help others. Their father has been a humble cook and chef and also a gardener for decades, unconsciously cultivating the family's sensitivities since childhood regarding food and vegetation.

As they decided to adopt a plant-based and vegetarian-vegan diet together due to the Dharma's influence, Compassion has been the guiding direction in their meals - meditation in food preparation results in loving and compassionate meals produced, with a harmony from nature. Our cream cheeses have both the allium and allium-free versions.

The Creators

Meet the Sisters

Driven by a love for nature and sustainability, we are committed to creating authentic flavours that satisfy our taste buds and align with our values.

Lim, Jessica

Jessica's hands are the ones behind the cream cheeses that we consume with delight. Every cream cheese is crafted by hand with love and care, and produced with not only our tastebuds, but also our health and the environment in mind. Jessica is also the lady behind the physical creations of the different flavours and the cream cheese creations in our kitchen, blending its French origins and our Asian roots in a perfectly harmonious manner.

Jessica has background in social work, with a relatively long history serving the community and the disadvantaged. Hailing from a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, her compassion and empathy goes beyond simply humans, to animals and to our environment - Mother Nature. She has been vegan since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world. Being a hands-on person, she has been actively serving the community via various volunteer activities spanning from sustainability and waste, to vegan advocacy and vegetarian-vegan cuisines, and in Dharma work. Jessica has extensive experience in vegan kitchens and specialises in Chinese Asian vegan food as well as in cream cheeses.

Lim, Shin

Shin runs the digital operations behind the brand, and plays a main role in the materialisation of ideas, creation of the brand's products, direction and collaboration with French cheesemakers.

It is the dream of both sisters to ultimately open and operate a family-run restaurant, offering delectable and exquisite plant-based cuisine focusing on offering nut-based cream cheeses, Asian dishes and temple food (Korean and Chinese), all of which are rare finds especially in Singapore, for the vegan community, providing the uncommon dining experience for people who wish to try plant-based cuisines.

Shin dwelt in temple kitchens, specialising in Korean temple food, Chinese cold dishes and select Chinese medicinal herbs. Shin is also an avid gardener.

In her young adult days, she has also helped in food tasting, degustation and deconstruction in select Asian restaurant chains' efforts to improve their menu and flavours.

We run a reuse and recycle programme where we encourage all our customers to keep and/or return the cream cheese glass bottles to us. We thank you on behalf of Mother Nature.

Reviews

The cream cheese tastes heavenly! The herbs flavour is my favourite - I pair it with my cutlets! I finished the whole bottle within a single day. -- Z.Adams
